Cryptic crossword No 792

Someone's gotta get the ball rolling with a comment; this thing's been up for 6 hours and there will be another half-dozen puzzles by lunchtime! 😊 Very well done and many thanks to Liari (and her testers) for shepherding this through to publication. Favourites for me included: 5a, 9a, 22a, 30a, 8d, 16d, 23d. Congrats to all.

Excellent work! This is the first Platypus that I’ve done and it makes me want to dig out the old ones to try them. Lots of great clues but my particular favourites are 10a, 30a, 7d, 16d and 22d 👏
