Clues of the Week 11/10/26

Hey all, I thought a nice use of this forum might be to share our favourite clues we find each week, whether they be from MyC puzzles or published in other outlets like the national newspapers. Maybe a post like this each Sunday to cover the previous seven days. I suggest we use a simple format like: - Puzzle identifier (MyC number / newspaper date) - Setter name - Clue … in the main comment but *not* to include the answer there (you can put that in a Reply if you like as the Forum collapses replies by default) How’s this? I’ll get the ball rolling in the next comment.

My favourite clue this week was in Featured Crossword 21 by Ruskin: She loved Tony Blair – a man to some extent from the right (5)

Great idea! Mine was from The Times on Friday 9th October (anonymous): Degree of interest when dons lecture (4,4)

This from The Economist weekend crossword 55 by Rowland: Reform gent, denied Government, blames this? (13)

MyCrossword 3,989 by Ouroboros had “Rubbish! Everything is covered in rubbish (5)” and another repetition clue: “Ego, eg, egad? (1,3)”

I enjoyed this from Independent 12483 by Brunel (I'd not heard of the answer but was impressed by how cleanly and neatly this cryptic def fits it): Pieces of silver handled by disciples? (7,6)
