Looks like you've all had a jolly good time, then, and it's nice to have had a little way of joining in the fun! Plaudits go to 9a, 12a (loving "history"), 18a, 29a (*vaguely satisfied groan*), 3d, 6d and 27d (annoyingly clever) - I deliberately didn't check the annotations, so any bias towards certain setters is completely accidental, honest. Thanks all, and enjoy the rest of your evenings!

Nicely done - very sorry to have missed the conference but just wasn't practically possible, it sounds like everyone had an amazing time😁. Faves here include 12a, 14a, 18a, 6d, 8d and 28d, plus a mention for 19d's definition. Thanks all!
