Enjoyed this very much. Simple or difficult I think the art is in the setting. Some very smooth surfaces, I thought. I liked the it’s turned up in 7d (without the s), the gentle anagrams, 25a in the plural, and the ladies in 24d which is obvious but works well in the surface. Had to google the singer and the yoghurt. 10d, 20d, 18d my picks to name but three.
Thanks Postmark for a really satisfying solve, was more on my level accessible enough to really get stuck in and make my way to the end with little assistance needed. Goes without saying but maintaining such great surfaces in a Quiptic is no mean feat! Favourites included 26a, 28a, 20d (easy COD for me) and 24d. Potential spoilers...
Thanks PM, super stuff as expected, though of course rather more straighforward ... more than enough to keep things interesting though, with eg 17a's EST (I was familiar with ECT ... though the Madness fella did make it easy enough!), 21a's "bugs" synonym, 7d's definition, or the allusion in 16d perhaps lifting it slightly out of 'quiptic' territory? Agree with general consensus on 20d as COTD, but lovely stuff throughout; apologies for late commenting, just catching up ... thanks again!
I am in good company enjoying a particularly accessible PM puzzle, and I've not much to add beyond my own particular faves as my experience echos those that have come before me: 1a (neat), 12a (nice), 15a (clean), 19a (cute), 26a (clean), 28a (nice), 10d (fun surface image), 18d (likewise) and 20d (very neat)
What a fun puzzle! 20d is my No.1. I have a YouTube channel called The Cryptic Mystic (1200 subs)(http://www.youtube.com/@The_Cryptic_Mystic) with the aim of demystifying cryptics and helping beginners discover the joy of solving them. I post walkthrough videos of me solving cryptics and explaining my thinking and the wordplay. Would you have any objections to me featuring your puzzles in this way? I think my subscribers would love them. I'd include links back to you here. Thanks, Martin
