Cryptic crossword No 1,498

The test solver said it was a little more accessible than my usual fare, which was the intention, so 👍 but curious to see if others agree 😁

Having not solved your 'usual fare' I can't say how it compares! But I enjoyed it and didn't find it too challenging. Faves were 5a, 22a, 29a, 15d, 20d, 27d. Cheers Henri

Thanks, Henri! Good stuff. Top 3: 5a, 14a, 13d, Since you ask, I think the grid, particularly the run of across clues from 11 to 29, is quite favourable. But I wouldn't say this was a particularly easy puzzle. Maybe a bit easier than others of yours :)

Thanks Henri for an excellent crossword. When I was working the upper half I thought it would be a speedy solve but the lower half nixed that idea. I needed a nudge to solve 30a, 24d, and 25d. I particularly enjoyed 19a, 32a, 13d, 20d, 21d, 27d, and 28d. I look forward to your next puzzle.

Yep, not too tricky Henri. But a nice clean straightforward Sunday morning solve which is just what I wanted. 5a, 19a, 31a, 18d and 27d were faves. Spoilers in reply. Thanks. PM

Lovely stuff Henri, certainly Jaspa-esque but no less enjoyable - in fact, I'm rather fond of such puzzles! Particular favourites included 1a (fun), 5a (clean), 12a (neat), 19a (cool surface). 26a (likewise), 32a (likewise), 2d (neat), 4d (likewise), 21d (cute), 25d (nice combo of "ancient city, Troy") and 27d (smooth) - thanks for a fun puzzle!
