Cryptic crossword No 1,408

Very good. I used the check button a few times and finally had to show the definitions. A few interesting definitions i.e. 26a and new words i.e. 11a and 5d but the parsing was and it was an enjoyable solve. My pick of the clues would be 19a, 28a and 9d. Thanks.

This was a fab grid with a lot of great clues. I especially enjoyed 11A, 12A, 19A, 21A, 18D, and 22D. I am also unfamiliar with The Power and the Glory (30A) and was unable to appreciate the surface during the solve. Its wiki has now given it away and I guess I have a new entry in my reading list :)--10A 8D

I enjoyed having a crack at this the… I made a good start but then got stuck and have needed your notes to understand a few of these (but I’m not a strong solver)! My favourites were from the easier end of the spectrum: 1d 26d 25d 8d and 9d. Thanks. Spoilers
