Cryptic crossword No 1,209

Nice to encounter a Blancheflower and, indeed, it was more gentle than your alter ego. Everything fell quite smoothly apart from the last couple 16a/16d which held out together for some time before finally cracking. Faves include: 8a, 9a, 14a, 20a, 24a, 25a (not sure you need the qualifier!!!), 2d, 3d, 12d, 24d, 26d and 29d. Spoilers in Reply. Thanks. PM

Great fun and definitely the B fella and not full Fez I thought. Although I will admit that the synonym in 29a was new to me (but being educated is part of the fun of crosswords). Favourites: 6d, 12d, 26d, 25a and 2d. Spoilers overleaf —>

Great stuff, Fez. It's good to see Blancheflower making another appearance although I don't think I found this as gentle as others seem to have. My top picks were 9a, 19a, 21a, 2d, 17d, 20d and 29d. Thanks!

Thanks Fez - I found this medium-difficulty, but enjoyed it plenty. 21a probably my favourite (arf), with 20a and 10a very neat as well. And I think I know what I'll be listening to tonight!
