Hi tpgrammar! Some solid clues here, thanks for putting this together. I'd be remiss not to mention some clues that perhaps don't work. 4a, 2d- easy to solve because the surfaces have no cohesion and no misdirection at all. 15a you seem to have made the definition ALL CAPS, likely a placeholder formatting. 4d - what is "young Beckham" doing?

I’m getting rather fond of these little exercises tpg! I’m sure there’s a special satisfaction in setting them, and they’re therapeutic to solve too- not TOO much brain strain involved. My faves were probably 1a, 5d, 6d and 12d, closely followed by 7a, 11a, 15a, 17a, 2d, and 9d. And the rest weren’t bad either! Only one query: why East London AND young Beckham in 4d?
