Thanks Mallimack, good stuff - and yes definitely an easier puzzle! Plenty of clues provoking head-scratching, but also plenty of straightforward ones so an abundance of crossers to help out. Not sure it's*quite* for absolute beginners, but a "wee stretch" is a good summary. Faves include 5a ("wet thing", ha!), 12a, 20a & 1d (&lit? I think def probably deserves an exclamation mark). Spoilers ...

Yes, Mallimack, this was definitely more accessible but not a 'write-in' by any stretch. My favourites were 5a, 15a, 2d, 6d, and 16d. Thanks.
