Thanks av1, an enjoyable challenge - with lots of clever, tricky clues and a fair amount of GK required (needed e-help for a couple) Favourites 1a, 11a (this needed Google to recall his presidency!), 17a, 19a, 22a, 24a, 2d, 4d, 6d, 14d (very sneaky deletion, not sure if capitalisation required though?) & 23d. 15a arguably a bit same-sidey for a DD but clever use of GK probably redeems it, 11d perhaps "sort" would work better than "kind"?, 7d v funny. Overall very impressive indeed, thanks again!

Quite a remarkable gridfill, on which many congratulations. The various political references all make sense and some of them really took me back. Some, I am happy to report, are well before my time! Favourites include 11a, 13a, 19a, 20a, 4d (COTD), 6d, 7d, 21d. Spoilers in Reply. Many thanks. PM

Fabulous stuff, and the subject matter was right up my street so double thumbs up 👍 👍 My podium: 20a, 28a and 7d. I could do with seeing your annotated solutions though – I see you told Fez you've added them, but it looks like they haven't been activated in the Solution Settings so that we can see them 😁 Thanks again for a superb puzzle.

Thanks for the fantastic puzzle av1, tons of lovely clues and an impressive grid - bravo! I particularly liked 1a (very smooth), 9a (neat), 12a (nice assembly), 20a (neat), 24a (great surface), 28a (smooth and neat), 1d (clever), 2d (fun), 4d (nice assembly), 5d (very neat), 6d (fun), 16d (clean) and 26d (neat). This was lots of fun and I learnt a lot too, so thanks again. Do you produce any other cryptics throughout the year?
