Welcome, Tink, and thank you for an enjoyable puzzle with some neat and clever clues. My favourites were 6a, 9a, 10a, 23a, 27a, 5d (very satisfying to get a taut and accurate clue for a short word), 6d. I don't understand how 11a is meant to work, and turning on "Annotated Solutions" is helpful for the solver (and allows more intelligent and constructive comment). I think it's not a spoiler to say that the enumeration of 1d should be (5,5). Spoiler in reply.

Thanks for the lovely puzzle, and welcome to MyC! You've got a very polished, succinct style and this was very enjoyable to solve. I particularly liked 6a (neat), 9a (likewise), 11a (tricksy), 17a (very neat), 19a (neat), 23a (clean), 27a (nice), 2d (fun), 4d (neat), 16d (neat) and 24d (likesise) - a lovely debut, nice one Tink!

Not bad for a first effort, Tink. Some nice ideas - favourites for me were 17a, 2d, 16d, 24d

Welcome Tink and thanks for a fun puzzle, which is very impressive for a first effort. The succinct clueing in particular is quite unusual in a debut puzzle. I particularly liked 6A, 9A, 23A, 2D, 12D and 16D.

Wow, excellent debut. As others have noted, the clue writing style is very concise, something most setters struggle with at first. Some really clever ideas in here too. I concur with the minor points raised by others but don’t let that take away from a very impressive debut. Well done, now do another! 👏

Well done, Tink. Sorry to be slow in getting around to this but it was worth the wait. A remarkable achievement if this is your first; I'm quite embarrassed to look at my early stuff. (Well, pretty much up to last week really! 🤣🤣🤣). I had big ticks for 10a, 13a, 18a, 23a, 27a, 6d, 17d (COTD), 24d. Spoilers in Reply. Thanks. PM
