Thanks for a lovely puzzle Hex, lots of creativity on show here! I particularly liked 1a (clean), 10a (fun), 12a (neat), 24a (lovely assembly), 27a (clean), 29a (very nice construction), 5d (clean), 7d (neat), 8d (likewise), 19d (clever) and 22d (smooth) - nice one :)

Very nice Hex, and challenging enough in its own quirky way. A golden oldie in 20a, and almost any clue on 28a is amusing. I agree that 24a is beautifully conjugated. 1a and 1d made for an encouraging start, but the going got tougher after those. Thanks!
