Lovely job, thanks. Liked 1a (even though I didn’t actually know that was a word!), 12a, 1d and 3d (amusing) in particular. I have two queries (most likely gaps in my knowledge) in the Reply.

Another really enjoyable puzzle to complete, leucine. I always know I'm in for a nice journey with you so am happy to make this a 'before lights out' puzzle. I was defeated by the parsing of 9a though it makes complete sense with your notes. I was over-thinking it. Favourites include: 1a (I had to reach out for that one), 5a, 12a (lovely), 23a (nice spot), 27a (lovely), 1d (outrageous - saved by the QM!), 2d (neat), 4d (brilliant), 15d (naturally!), 19d (tight), 21d (lol). Very good, Leucine! Like your last, I found this really quite tricky, needing a few visits, missing a few references and ultimately resorting to two or three reveals. But no quibbles and the level of ingenuity and variety in the clueing is impressive. My favourites were 11A, 12A, 23A, 26A, 6D, and 19D. Minor spoilers...
