Apologies - Just spotted two typos - 21a should read, "In skirt hem embed substance" and 3d should include "Norwich". I'll be more careful next time!

Thanks for the puzzle Hex, that was a satisfying level of difficulty for me and a nice collection of clues. I particularly liked 9a, 15a, 19a, 25a, 1d, 22d, 25d and 27d.

Hex, thank you for a nice puzzle. It’s at a very gentle level, but that’s not a fault and may very well be your intention. I prefer crisp clues of six or fewer words, but the challenge of making surfaces that describe a plausible idea or situation remains despite the brevity. Clues like 24a, 26a, 31a, 3d, 12d and 25d pass that test well; some others, like 17a and 5d, not so much. Perhaps you could allow yourself a few more words when there is a better clue to be had? Spoilers…..

Liked this, thanks Hex. Not too tough (which isn’t a problem at all, I do like a relatively accessible puzzle for a coffee break or one last grid before bedtime 😁 ). I would like to see solution notes to check a couple of parsings if possible. Favourites: 16a, 17a, 19a, 6d, 27d. And a nicely worked 21a as well!

I just watched Conto solving this one, its lots of fun with good clean cluing My personal favourites among many good ones were 15a, 4d, 6d and 25d.
