This was great. Managed to get through it with minimal cheating. Seemed like a lot of anagrams? 7, 12 & 13 were clever and unusual. I guessed the answers from crossers and then had to work out how they worked. I also liked 8, 10, 16, 20, 27. Thanks Plumwizard.

Nicely done, Plumbwizard, lots of very tidy clueing here. I agree with Madryn that it feels quite high on the anagram count but you’ve got some lovely finds - particularly 1a, 12a, 28a, 22d.

Well done Plumbwizard, that was a lovely set of clues with many bringing a smile. I particularly liked 1a (fun), 12a (nice spot), 13a (this too), 23a (fun), 26a (likewise!), 1d (nice surface construction), 2d (smooth), 6d (clever and smooth), 7d (nice), 14d (neat) and 19d (likewise). A well set puzzle all round, nicely done!

A bit heavy on the anagrams and hiddens but some excellent surface readings. "Pinafore" anagram particularly nice. Need to be of a certain age to recognise snail as Brian and "downstairs" is confusing and redundant in 3D. Some care could be taken with definitions (eg "warehouse" for HANGAR but overall a satisfying solve with a few PDMs.

Hi there, PW. Said I'd get round to this and what an enjoyable canter. It felt like it was going to be tricky but was very clearly clued. Yes, lots of anagrams but, my word, there were some crackers in there - as well as some superb non-anagram clues. I think this is the best of yours I've done. Favourites included: 1a (splendid), 12a (COTD), 13a (also COTD!), 20a, 23a, 28a (splendid), 1d, 2d, 19d, 22d. Really enjoyable puzzle. A couple of spoilers in reply. Thanks. PM

Thanks Plumbwizard, lots of fun. I've previously enjoyed your puzzles at Big Dave's and think this is a step up from those, with lots to appreciate. Favourite 12a (even though it doesn't really contain a full definition, maybe?) Perhaps anagram-heavy but some super anagrams in there so it didn't bother me! Thanks again!

Trying to catch up on some solving and this is a lovely puzzle plumbwizard! Really good fun and as others have said the anagrams are fantastic and some lovely disguised definitions. Liked many, but favourites were 10a 12a 23a (LOI) 26a 7d 8d 14d 17d 19d and 22d was my top favourite. Also thought 21d v good example of the device. Nice work!
