Setter

The clues for this puzzle were set by 30 setters on Twitter.

Well, that's an unusual joint effort - though we've had "we Johns" (including the late and sadly missed Araucaria) collaborating as 'Biggles' before now. But well done all of you! It seems unfair to pick out a favourite. One or two that aren't quite spot-on, but no matter.

That was fun, thanks Platypus. It adds a different dimension when you have to get inside 30 minds :-)

Great fun! Thanks to the beak, flippers and every other part of Platypus. A pretty good standard of clue, I’d say, though surely 17A takes home the prize!

A lovely bit of fun, both to participate in and to solve! Kudos to 10, 12a, 16a, 24, 3 & 5 for being my favourites, with a begrudging nod to 17a for being annoyingly good in the way that you can only really sigh at. Roll on the (admittedly hypothetical) jumbo grid!

Really nice idea - thanks to all the participants! My favourites were 5d, 16a, 17a and 24a.

Nice crossword, thanks to all the setters! I'm not sure if there's a deeper meaning to 4d that I'm missing? I'm familiar with the quality standard in question and it fits the surface nicely, but I'm wondering if there's some significance to "crate" that is lost on me.

A lot of fun here, even without knowing the back-story. Favourites were 16A and 12D, I think. I'm afraid I don't get 17A or 17D at all even with Reveal; I failed to solve 7A and 3D but the wordplay for both of them is very neat. Thank you.

Exquisitely late to the party, but lovely puzzle and I love the conception - perhaps a round 2 on the cards at some point (unless I've missed that too!)? Lots of clever clues and hard to pick a favourite, but I thought 8a, 12a, 16a, 17a, 22a, 1d, 2d, and 11d were particularly nice. Well done all!
