Cryptic crossword No 2,563

Thank you in advance if you've had a go at my crossword! This is my first time posting on this site, but I started setting puzzles earlier this year. I'm constantly trying to improve and write better clue surfaces so any constructive feedback is very much welcome :)

Lots to like here. 15a very clever and 16d raised a smile. Wonder if tense right for 13d but I can see how the clue works. Glad of annotated solution for 26a!

Welcome to MyC Chili - it was your pseudonym that caught my attention and your being mad enough to join this merry band of cryptonuts. I think an excellent debut - I particularly appreciated 4a, 9a, 26a, 2d, 4d, 13d. Overall a bit tougher than I was expecting, some due to my unfamiliarity with the knowledge (e.g. 15d, 7d) and some due to tricky cryptic grammar. Fez has gone into a lot of detail about that, so I won't add to it. Definitely encourage you to keep setting and I look forward to more!
