Cryptic crossword No 2,532

Lovely stuff PM, tricky in places but delightfully tractable when enough thought was given to the chewier offerings. A hard set of clues to pick a shortlist of so here's a long one: 4a (nice), 9a (satisfying), 11a (fun def), 13a (simple and effective), 17a (satisfyingly smooth), 27a (very neat), 28a (neat), 1d (nice), 5d (tricksy), 7d (cute), 14d (delightfully creative, COTD), 18d (appreciated the construction) and 24d (neat) - thanks for keeping me entertained on a snoozy Saturday morning!

You’ve packed in tons here, bravo. A smidgeon of tricky vocab but very fairly clued. Loads to love, including 9a, 11a, 14a, 15a, 22a, 25a and 24d. Ta lots – always a treat ...

Thanks PostMark for a great set of clues. This was tricky in spots but ultimately doable. My top picks were 8a, 9a (liked 'say'), 28a, 3d, and 20d. I couldn't parse 12a but it was easy enough to guess from the definition & crosses. More in reply.

Lovely! For the first time in a while I spotted something useful before the halfway mark and that certainly helped some of the latter half. Liked 9a, 11a, 15a, 17a, 1d and 3d. Cheers!

Good stuff, PM. I found this knottier than your recent offerings, resorting to a few reveals in the end (despite spotting what was going on) - but maybe a couple of glasses of red over dinner didn’t help my cause. Lots of very nice clues as per. My pick: 8a, 12a, 21a, 27a, 10d, 14d and 24d.
