This is a loop back to the past - with new clues & answers - a second spin on my first ever puzzle, once again themed around Twin Peaks (1990-92; 2017). You’ve all helped me better understand cryptic crosswords — thank you! A spoiler follows…

The theme is one of my favourite things in the world, so I was very pleased to see this! Fav clue was 5d.

Thanks tpg for the fun. My top picks were 15a, 17a, 23a, 26a, 16d, and 24d. I couldn't understand some of your wordplay but crossers & guessing saved the day except for 8d & 14d which I revealed. More in reply.

Thanks tpgrammar, lots to enjoy and interesting / impressive to see the progress since that first Twin Peaks puzzle. Some neat imaginative definitions here, especially the fabulous 5d. Other faves include the strong opening quartet 6a, 7a (though is "low" really padding?), 9a & 10a, plus the simple 13a, nicely constructed 2d, and 17d (initially unsure about "low notes" but have come round to it!) Spoilers ...

Thanks tpg - good fun, and also good to the see the development in your clueing. Fez has picked up most of the points that made my eyebrows twitch slightly. I thought 5d was tremendous. Other favourites: 6a, 10a, 13a, 2d and 22d.

I suspected a nina of sorts, given some of the words that were appearing in solutions. Quite early on, I had had to wrestle with 3d, 6d and the rather unpleasant 11a and then, later, I had the nho 14d and 21d and the rarely-seen-on-its-own-two-feet 25d.. All of which made for a tricky solve. 9a, 13a and 5d make my podium. Thanks. PM
