Thanks Pippi. Liked 6a, 13a ("step over" feels a bit of a stretch but I think clear enough), 21a (*very* obscure - but sympathetically clued) & 15d. Nice wordplay in 8d & 9d too but the surfaces are a bit odd. It's useful if you can switch on annotations to help explain your clues (although I *think* I've managed to parse everything).
