Thanks yogdaws for a nice set of clues. My top picks were 28a, 29a, 4d, 7d, 8d, 18d, and 24d. I couldn't parse 12a, 14a, and 21a nor did I see annotations for this crossword. More in reply.

Slow to get around to this, yogdaws; I've been otherwise engaged but am catching up. I echo Fez's comments in their entirety (inc his faves). And his forbearance with regard to quibbles. I noticed a few short segments as I was solving but only when I surveyed the finished grid did I spot the completeness. As Fez said, the grid is the star. Well done and thanks. PM
