Cryptic crossword No 2,017

Thanks Cigogne, that was enjoyable. This took me several sittings to complete and I ended up revealing the nho 21a and 25d. There were many excellent clues including 7a, 11a, 14a, 26a (most excellent!), and 15d.

Ha, excellent! I spotted the significance of your SI *just* before I gave up to read your notes 😆 great work. Liked 12a, 14a, 26a (of course), 4d, 15d and 20d. Now tell me how you did the curly arrow character in the notes to 6d! 😆

Very clever Cigogne - too clever for me in fact! Having finished I was sat there scratching my head thinking ‘what do these words have in common.’ Had to use Fez’s comments to work out what I was missing. Favourite clues were 11a, 16a, 23a, 26a, 28a and 5d.

Thanks Cigogne. I found this very tough and brilliant in equal measure. Pretty much every clue was ticked other than those that got my eyebrows twitching. Faves were:: 12, 18a, 19a, 21a, 27a (COTD), 28a 5d (fab), 6d, 22d (fab), 24d. But I needed a fair few reveals and felt hard done by by some. Spoilers...
