Cryptic crossword No 1,806

I found this quite challenging on first pass with a fair amount of white space in the Northern half. Most went in on second pass but some tricky ones held out inc 7a, 1d and 6d which I did end up revealing - and then kicked myself. So quite tricky but very enjoyable with faves inc 10a, 15a, 22a, 28a, 1d (COTD), 3d, 23d and 24d. Thanks. PM
