Special Instructions: "Let me tell you about my operation." All down answers must undergo a certain procedure before entry. The procedure is consistent and has meaningful results. Ennumerations refer to the answers as they should be entered. Across entries do not require the procedure (which is valid). The completed grid will describe the procedure: a program some pussies need remedially when discontented.

Very good! I do love a bit of conceptual trickery in a cryptic so this was right up my rue. I spotted the 'procedure' maybe 20% of the way through and that made things slightly easier (but only slightly!). Finally spotted the 'description' not long before finishing. Lots of clever clues but the construct is the star for me. Bravo!

Thanks Mallimack, top (err, not bottom) stuff. As Henri says, the construction is the star, but particular faves include 8a, 16a, 20a, 25a, 28a, 2d, 13d & 29d. Spoilers ...

I don't normally go for such SI's - Down with this sort of Thing - but tried the across clues and got the majority so experimented with the downs and discovered your device. Didn't enable me to get all of them but it was a smaller number of reveals than I had expected. Cleverly conceived and executed. I'm with Henri - plenty of good clues but the construction is the star. Thanks. PM
