Cryptic crossword No 1,788

Tougher than your last tpg, with a mixture of pleasure and pain. I particularly appreciated 7a, 11a, 23a, 5d, 17d & 20d among others. Two or three nhos, one (19a) with clear enough wordplay that I was able to excavate the deep recesses of memory to recollect. I needed some reveals to make progress toward the end, and a trawl through your annotated solutions to understand wordplay in a few clues. What doesn’t kill me makes me stronger, right? Assuming so, thanks for the strengthening!

I'd agree with OzP that there were some tough ones in here, tpg. 8a, 16a, 27a, 5d, 17d, 18d and 22d were my faves. Thanks. PM

Enjoyed this, thanks tpg. Tricky in places as others have said but lots of great clues. I do agree with the quibblet mentioned by Fez and PM. Particularly liked 8a, 10a, 16a, 21a, 23a, 1d, 2d, 5d and 25d.
