This was a friendly refresher! Thank you. 3A gave me a good strong foothold and the rest went in smoothly. I liked 11A, 16A and 19A especially. I have a couple of notes in the reply if that's useful.
Thanks Yorick, that was good fun for the most part. Took me a little while to get a way in and then all started falling into place. I particularly enjoyed 11a, 19a, 24a, 25d among others. A few minor wrinkles that I’ll elaborate in reply to avoid spoilers…
Thank you, Yorick. Particularly liked 24a and especially the gloriously rude 6d. I have often argued that the more outrageous a homophone the better, but was defeated by the two in this puzzle; after reading the explanations I was suitably amused and you are most definitely forgiven
