Great crossword, great poet. I especially liked 10a, 12a, 14a, 22a, 17d, 23d and 24d. Typically fun and smart – I’ll even forgive you for 3d! Ta lots Amoeba.

Thanks for a delightfully smooth puzzle Amoeba, this all fell into place with satisfaction. Lots to like, particularly 11a (great surface and assembly), 12a (very neat), 14a (likewise), 18a (clean), 21a (neat), 28a (smooth), 1d (nice), 3d (pleased myself by knowing this, cleanly done), 15d (neat), 17d (smooth) and 24d (neat and smooth) - nho the puzzle's inspiration but curious to check it out, thanks for the recommendation!

Thanks Amoeba, I found this a good challenge, completed over two sittings. I loved 1d (nice PDM) and 11a (satisfying construction both surface and to solve). Admired and/or smiled at a few deft touches eg in 14a 23d and 10a. Other faves were 15d 17d 2d and the delightful 27a. Cheers, especially for the recommendation. Need to check one or two annotations…

This was a rewarding tussle, with 12 and 18 my favourites for their neatness. I heartily endorse this form of making recommendations! I do have bad news about 20d, however (in the reply)...

Good job, Amoeba. Plenty to smile at with some amusing surfaces in there which, as you know, I appreciate. I struggled just a bit in closing down the NE corner at the end. Faves include 11a, 12a, 22a, 25a, 3d (though nho), 17d, 19d and 20d. Spoiler in Reply. Thanks. PM

Really good Ameoba, thanks. Just about the right amount of challenge for me, with just the tiniest bit of help required to complete the NE and with the most obscure of the solutions. Favourites: 1a, 5a (surprised myself by working that one out with 3 crossers), 12a, 22a, 26a, 4d and 8d. Spoiler ...

Absolutely love the grid, but I think I've spotted an error...
