I really enjoyed this and thought the wordplay had a lot of humour to it. 3d was my favourite, and 8d was classy too. One wee note in the reply.

Nicely done, Pixlate. I apologise for being somewhat late to this. A lot going on over this week - puzzle-related and otherwise. Unlike Umpire, I found it slightly more accessible than your previous. Odd that. 9a, 20a, 26a, 1d, 2d, 5d, 7d and 15d were my faves. Thanks. PM
