Cryptic crossword No 167

Welcome, tiro. There are some very good things in here. I especially liked 11a, 15a, 25a. Some of the surfaces, though, really don’t work. I think 14a and 17d are the worst offenders. The surface of 22d is also fairly nonsensical, but I think the clue is a good one and the surface conjures up a suitably bizarre image – though the student parties I went to tended to smell of something stronger than omelettes. 11a is excellent - gold star for that. Took me a while to get the wordplay in 15d but once it clicked, that also raised a smile. I’m not sure about 25a - is it a homophone? I had the same queries as Gollum on 5d and 23d.
