Cryptic crossword No 1,632

Thanks Rough, that is a really fabulous grid you've put together. It's a shame that I doubt many will get to appreciate it, as far too many of the clues are impenetrable - once again, I managed a handful before resorting to reveals and annotations. 21d works nicely, and I also enjoyed - with caveats - 14a, 18a, 20a, 25a, 1d, 13d, 19d & 22d. Hi Rough, I had a crack at this and found it way beyond me, I'm afraid. An initial sweep yielded 2 solutions, and further head-scratching and a few checks to confirm parsing/structure has got me to 51% apparently. I may come back and see if inspiration strikes. But I've been frustrated in the past by getting little activity on a puzzle, so I thought it best to let you know that I've seen it and had a good go.
