Cryptic crossword No 1,623

Welcome to MyC Median! I enjoyed this too - a very nicely worked theme, which even I could spot! I was undone in the end by a couple of NHOs in 7d and 16d. Favourites: 7a, 15a, 24a, 4d and 21d.

This was a fun one. I particularly liked 13a, 23a and 25d. 1a a new word for me, but was able to get it from crossers and very clever anagram. Cheers!
