Super puzzle Amoeba, thanks. I agree with PM about the quality of the surfaces and clue constructions, and also thought there were some tremendous definitions in here too. I particularly enjoyed: 9a, 16a, 21a, 7d, 10d, 14d and 22d.

Soooo much to admire here Amoeba - terrific surfaces, accurate clueing, wit and creativity. My faves were: 👍👍👍 5a/1d, 19a, 2d, 4d, 7d (COTD) 👍👍 9a, 12a, 6d, 10d, 22d 👍 19a, 25a, 26a Having said that I have a few observations/questions that may just point to my inadequacies. SPOILERS...

I must echo those before in praising your delightful surfaces, definitions and constructions here Amoeba, I had great fun and satisfaction from start to finish. I particularly liked 5a/1d (delightfully smooth), 12a (neat), 16a (lol), 21a (nice construction), 25a (nice), 27a (very clean), 2d (neat), 6d (lovely), 7d (fun), 8d (likewise), 10d (impressive construction) and 22d (simple and effective) - thanks for the puzzle!

Thanks, Amoeba. It's another praise from me. This was a pleasure to solve; with so many relatively long clues, getting the surfaces coherent can be a challenge, but yours are first-rate. My top 3: 11A, 10D (actually one of those clues where the surface looks superb, but if you think about it, it doesn't make much sense, but never mind :) ), 13D. A few discussion points follow...

Delightful puzzle Amoeba, which required teasing out. Some lovely wordplay to unpack - all very satisfying - and some super definitions. Nice one! long list of great clues: 20d 10d 13d (my COTD) 6d 24a 26a 27a 12a 5a1d 2d and 3d! Phew!
