Cryptic crossword No 1,340

This is an outstanding crossword, Skirwingle. So many wonderful clues throughout the grid, beautifully incorporating the theme too. Difficult to pick favourites but 10a, 18a, 26a, 1d and 17d deserve a special mention.

Thanks Skirwingle, nice puzzle with lots of interesting (and well executed) ideas. Particular favourites are 13a, 14a, 15a, 18a (I like Homeric a lot), 13d (King 😂) and 24d.
