First ever attempt at setting for me. Hope you enjoy!

Thanks Dingo and welcome to the madhouse... Your debut is a right mixture of clues, overall a fairly gentle solve with some that made me smile and others that had me scratch head or raise an eyebrow. Particularly enjoyed some of the clever thinking behind 23a, 29a, 36a, 5d, 15d, 18d, 25d & 31d among others. Headscratchers in reply to avoid spoilers for other solvers...

Welcome to MyC, Dingo, and congratulations on a most enjoyable debut puzzle! The level of invention, quality of the surfaces and general conciseness of the clues are all very impressive, particularly for a first attempt, which I would say indicates great potential. I will feedback a number of technical points in replies. My favourite clues were: 1a, 11a, 35a , 5d, 26d and 28d.

Welcome Dingo. As OzP and Coot say, plenty of imagination here and some nice clues. Yes, there is plenty of room for tightening up but that will come from time and practice and heeding the kind of advice they have given. But you've probably had enough of advice so let me just say my podium was 1a, 6d and 27d. I look forward to your next. Thanks. PM

Thanks Dingo - faves here 11a, 3d, 5d, 6d, 20d, 28d & 29d. Spoilers ...
