1a alone was worth the price of admission - if there's a better phrase in the English language I'm yet to hear it! 13a, 22a and 19d the other highlights in a very neat and polished grid. Only minor quibble is with the definition in 3d (!!), but that aside it was a quick and pleasant solve. Thanks, tpg

Thanks Jaspa - very much back to "coffee break" Jaspa, the kettle hadn't even finished boiling! Well, maybe not quite ... but fabulous clues throughout, agree with tpg 1a is definitely one for the podium but plenty of other contenders e.g. 6a, 16a, 17a, 2d & 4d. I also liked 3d, I think the question mark is sufficient for the definition to be accurate? Thanks again!

Super stuff Jaspa! Not quite the breeze that Fez experienced, but once I got going on the right hand side, I polished that off fairly quickly and then steadily worked back up the left. The joyous 1A was therefore one of my last ones in but worth the wait. Other favourites included: 6A, 13A, 17A, 23A, 2D and 4D.

Nice and quick as intended with only 16a, LOI, proving tricky so job done. Favourites inc 1a, 13a, 22a, 28a, 2d, 9d and 26d. Thanks. PM

Thanks for that Jaspa, a most satisfyingly succinct solve starting off supremely strongly with a sumptuous 1a (very neat), with tons of other favourites including 6a (very neat too), 10a (liking the pairwise charade constructions), 18a (neat), 23a (smooth), 24a (simple but effective), 25a (neat), 28a (neat), 2d (clean), 3d (nice construction), 8d (neat) and 19d (neat) - lovely stuff!

A fine speedy solve Jaspa, thanks - I'll join the praise for 1a, but lots of nice stuff here. Out of interest, when you're making a Jaspa, how much attention do you pay to the gridfill and how much is just in the clue construction?
