Quick crossword No 86

That really was a Quickie, and no problems for me. 7d & 11d unlikely scenarios but v amusing; 19a was a really good one of its kind - a common solution with a completely convincing smooth surface, not that easy to do. All good, but my favourite was 12a.

Superb quiptic. Spot on. Really nice clues, too, with some lovely surfaces and all v good fun. Faves were 14d 6d 1a 10a 17a 23a and the quite brilliant 22a. Thanks. Loved it

Excellent quick one, that, just the right level. Some really nice clues that raised a smile too, such as 15a, 17a, 22a, 23a, 14d and 16d. Bravo!

Great fun, thanks widders! I particularly liked 1a (fun), 5a (neat), 9a (lovely), 10a (smooth), 12a (fun), 22a (smooth), 23a (neat), 2d (very neat), 6d (neat), 11d (clean) and 16d (neat) - all very smooth surfaces and lovely satisfying wordplay, top puzzle :)

Just to say that I loved the misdirection of entrance in 5a. :)

Lovely work Widders! I'd say slightly harder than a quiptic perhaps with the device in 13A. Also surprised to see 7D, I loved the clue but thought you would consider the solution to be due for retirement from crosswords. Too many favourites to list them all. Very enjoyable and my only complaint is that this was over too soon.

Just like you said it would be, widders. Not quite the full cuppa - that's time-wise rather than the sandwich short of a picnic sense! Very smooth. Faves 5a, 9a, 12a, 22a, 23a, 5d, 11d, 18d. Congrats and Merry Christmas. PM
