Nice one, Angel. Enjoyed this a lot, particularly 17a, 12d, 21d. Lovely tribute to the 3es. I got the solution to 4d easily enough from the wordplay but then spent ages looking at it, thinking “that’s not a word!” - doh!

Sweet. Nicely done tribute. I'm ashamed to say some themed solutions were unknown - I had to reveal 23a even with all the crossers - and am horrified to discover you know more than you should about some subjects! 😉 Misspent youth! Actually, the extreme SE is quite a heady corner! 9a, 17a, 20a, 1d were favourites - along, of course, with the witty 4d. Thanks. PM

Very nice job and great theme! Lovely surfaces and some economical clues, eg 9a and 12d. I also struggled with 4d even when I had the letters!
