Very nice start to the weekend! I thought 7a and 9d were particularly neat.

Hi widders. I'm with Angel with regard to top billing of 7a and 9d. The first, in particular, is a lovely spot. Nice gentle puzzle just right for the genre. I would add 6d (inevitably), 14d, 15a and 11a (which you were brave to enter into a grid) as my other favourites. Thanks. PM

Thanks for that excellent quick, Widdersbel, a perfect example of the art. Lots of wit and inventiveness on show - 7a is an excellent spot, 8a was fun, as was 10a, 11a was the first of a lovely set of such clues, 18a neat, as were 22a, 3d, 4d and 9d, 12d made me lol on solving and 14d was also very nice.

This is a lovely puzzle. It’s pitched just right, I think, for a quiptic. I admired pretty much all of these but to select some favourites: 7a (lovely), 8a, 10a, 11a, 13a, 9d and 12d. Thanks for another great addition to the quickies

Completed quite quickly, so obviously a good sign. My last one was 7a - needed all crossers for that - but a stand-out clue for sure. Should have got it sooner. Among others I liked were 11a, 9d, and 12d (have seen variations but very neatly done here). Small point, but 1a was *maybe* a little weak, where the second element essentially means the same as it does in the solution (even if it is changed from n. to v.), but I can see that breaking it down to be more cryptic might have been unwieldy.
