Some lovely clues as always! Personal favourites were 12a, 15a, 3d, 11d and 13d. A well-constructed grid with a nice surprise at the end.

I did enjoy! At first I thought, this is easy, and he’s using the same devices rather a lot… and then I saw the light! Agree with Coot re 11d. Thanks for a good lesson in restraint 😊

So much to enjoy in a small package : neat definitions (5d,6a,15a), amusing surfaces (8a,4d ) and cunning wordplay (7a,10a,14d). Plus the fun bonus. Perfect little puzzle!
