7d's surface is accurate. ^_^ Laughed at 14d. 22a was new to me; I had SLEDGE as an alternative theory for a bit. I spent some time suspecting the second word of 19a might be SOCCAGE.

Great stuff. Too many great clues to list favourites. As usual I start off thinking I'm never going to get there and slowly all falls into place. Sign of a perfectly pitched puzzle at least for me.
