Quick crossword No 391

Hi emaherself and thanks for a great little crossword! Plenty to fuel the imagination and satisfy the intellect, with some standout surfaces. My picks of the bunch were 1a, 11a, 15a, 3d, 5d, 6d and 20d for sheer bonkersness! Minor afterthoughts…

I thought it was brilliant. As someone relatively new it was perfect level for me. A genuine challenge and lots of very satisfying clever clues. Thank you.

I love your surface style, especially 9d and 12d. I thought 3d was clever. 1d threw me a bit because I thought the creature was 'bee' = B, so I ended up with B + RING = BRING (thinking of an electronic buzzer, then a telephone bell going 'brrring, brrring!'), couldn't satisfactorily parse it and discovered my mistake via checks.
