Hi SJ, nice little puzzle and enjoyed the theme. I liked 4a particularly. A couple of minor spoilery points…

This was fun to solve, thanks SwanseaJack. Theme not my area so I had to do some light googling but only to double check some things. I thought 2a and 3d were especially good.
