Apologies for the repetition of 'finally' I giddily posted this with only a cursory check...

A /little/ trickier, yeah, with all those crafty little words! Still, nothing insurmountable, and all in all a good exploration of how the format can be pushed. Top three would be 4d, 6a & 16a, because three seems like the appropriate number to pick out here...

You crazy loon! The instruction “Chambers is recommended” normally has me steering well clear but this was fun. And most of the solutions were gettable from wordplay alone.

Thanks Henri, that was more fun than I expected. To quote you, however, it's a little 'unfair' to use 'state' for a two letter sequence i.e. as in 12d 😊
