Thanks, HF. Some fun clues here, including 5a, 8a, 4d (my fav), and 2d (which might not need a QM; others can weigh in there). In the "Actions" pull-down menu, the "Solutions & explanations" button allows you to make your annotations visible to solvers (recommended). Nice debut with a range of techniques; keep it up.

Thanks HF and welcome to MyC. Liked 2d and 4d in particular; I didn't really understand 1a and 6d but I guessed them correctly. Enabling annotations will help with feedback as tpg mentioned. I always recommend the Chambers Crossword Manual by Don Manley, the Chambers dictionary app, and clueclinic.com to new setters. Good luck.

Well done a good first effort not loads to worry about just some refining I had similar thoughts about the muddy 1a and the probably unnecessary question mark in 2d. 5a 7a & 4d good solid clues. The definition for 6d is a little vague but it is balanced by a very clear homophone. I wonder if students still talk about a Desmond? Keep it up :)
