Special Instructions: First go on MyCrossword, though I've been honing some skills on another site (gasp!) for a while, so I'm not completely green. This one has a higher rate of cultural knowledge in it than I'd normally put in a cryptic, but I *think* they're well known enough. Do please have at it in the comments and say what you think doesn't quite work or is frowned upon (I have a couple of thoughts myself about where I think I'm pushing my luck). Though ideally also say what you think does work.

Welcome to MyC evilflea, well done on putting your head above the parapet. 2D is a fine clue. I also had no problems with any of the cultural knowledge. Thanks for the puzzle. SPOILERS in reply

Some nice stuff here, Evilflea, incl 2d and 3d. A few thoughts: some extra/redundant words eg "the" in 3d and "about" in 1d (which seems to tell us to reverse the answer). "Surprised" doesn't really = OH - that'd be "I'm surprised" or similar. Finally most setters prefer "blah's first" to "first blah". I have some other tips at charliemethven.com/tips which I hope will be useful
