Mini crossword No 193

Well done posting your first! I think 5a and 7a work best. I think a few clues need a technical polish so they're more precise and concise. I'll question one thing in reply to this comment but I'll mostly leave to others as I've not been doing it for very long either!

1a - difficult to make this homophone work unless you suggest a cockney accent. 8a "TO judge" explicitly clues a verb, not the noun your answer requires. 2d - evilflea covered the problem with this already. Your recipe should always be 100% fair and accurate. 3d - 4/10 of the words are neither definition or wordplay (in/with/the/this) - superfluous words should always be removed. 6d - homophones must sound exactly like the answer. You couldn't say "you heard dee" to clue "delta" to mean "dealt"
