Cryptic crossword No 907

This was published in the Rookie Corner last month, although I failed to notice at the time! Thanks very much to those who've already commented on it (Fez, Widdersbel, PostMark and anyone else whose name I don't recognise from there). I've changed a couple of the clues. It's themed.

Thanks, quite the mental workout towards the end. The theme flew right over my head but your notes explain all so I appreciate the extent of the theming now! A few of the more obscure solutions had the familiar whiff of ‘themed gridfill trauma’ 😆 but generally fairly clued and all forgivable! I have a tiny spoilery comment in the reply. Thanks again.

I was about to start this to actually get up to date for the end of the year - and then realised I'd done it before. Oddly enough, it was the title that rang the first bell. I am very pleased you have had the opportunity to use Annotations which is denied you on RC. Spoilers in Reply.

Hi Lampost, thanks for the puzzle, which I found tough with some satisfying clues. I really liked 30d 13a 22d and 11a all on the easier side and neatly clued. Spoilers
