Thanks, Liari! I liked this a lot, especially 11a, 17a, 20a, 7d, 19d and 22d, but it was all great fun. One small quibble: using 'head' three times, including in consecutive clues, as well as 'heading', is perhaps a bit excessive. Happy New Year!

What a delight this was to solve! Always expect scrupulously precise clueing from you, Liari, but there’s also plenty of elegance and wit on display here. Particular favourites were 10a, 13a, 14a, 26a, 3d, 19d. And it’s great to see 5d in a crossword!

5d my last one in - I was overthinking it - but I wouldn't be surprised if you were the first setter to (dare to) clue it. Can't see 9a without thinking of Moon Zappa in Valley Girl! My particular favourites were 3a, 9a, 14a, 3d, 12d, and 15d, all for the neat and believable surfaces.
