Cryptic crossword No 861

As it's gone a bit quiet thought I'd throw this in. Shouldn't be too tricky, but enjoy anyway, and Seasons Greetings to all.

Very good Starhorse - enjoyed this. A good level of difficulty for me and some lovely clues: 11A, 15A, 23A, 27A, 8D and 19D my picks.

Fabulous, the best of yours that I’ve tackled yet. Lots of very clever clues with smooth surfaces, in particular 4a, 15a, 17a, 26a and 5d (COTD, absolutely marvellous). Great fun, thanks again 👏

Started this a while ago and have just got round to finishing it. Good fun and challenging for me, but enjoyable for it. Thought there were some lovely clues in this, my favourites being 27a 15a 1a 5d and 8d. Cheers
