Very enjoyable, thanks Methuselah & Quince. No specialist knowledge of the theme needed to solve it, although there are a couple of surface references I think I'm missing! 25a was my favourite for the definition, but I could have picked pretty much any of them.

I got a lot of pleasure out of doing this - even though, as a grumpy old man, the theme is utterly unknown to me. I looked at the Wiki entry before starting which helped me appreciate the surfaces more. Although I still missed some theme knowledge eg 19a. I thought you'd gone for a pangram to boot at one point but think there's J,K and X missing. 8a, 9a, 14a, 15d, 16d were favourites. And I can't believe you included 22d 😊

Lovely stuff! As an avid PCD I thoroughly enjoyed this. Very impressive to have every surface themed with so much detail. Particular favourites were 8a, 11a, 20a, 28a, 2d, 18d and 24d. Thanks Methuselah and Quince.

Lovely stuff! Big Robins fan. He once called me a legend on the radio, you know.

Thanks for the puzzle Methuselah, that was wonderful. Tons of cunning, lovely surfaces and a satisfying solve all round. Particular favourites were 8a, 11a, 14a, 21a, 5d, 6d, 13d and 16d

Thanks Methuselah & Quince, this was lots of fun. 2d made me laugh out loud - great find. Also particularly enjoyed 9a, 11a, 14a, 5d, 13d, but it’s all good really.

Great stuff, thanks both. Lovely use of the theme. I really enjoy listening to Ellis & John, so this was a lot of fun to solve. Particularly liked 9A, 14A, 20A, 28A, 2D (great spot), 16D, 22D and 24D.
